“I’m Sure Glad I Chose Naylor’s”
James Naylor and his son, Charles, established Naylor Cooperage Stock Mills in 1882
Naylor’s Kitchen & Bath Centre had its beginnings in 1882 when James Naylor and his son, Charles, established Naylor Cooperage Stock Mills. Originally located in Essex (about 20 miles outside of Windsor) as a saw and stave mill, the business evolved from sawmill to lumberyard to home centre and finally to its present day specialty centre for kitchen and bath products. In 1973, the company started to distribute a line of cabinets manufactured by Merillat Industries in Adrian, Michigan.
At the suggestion of Merillat Industries, Maric Kitchen Distributors Inc. was incorporated in August 1981 to continue the cabinet wholesale operation. Shareholders were Mark and Eric Naylor. The business was run from the owners’ home in Essex. Kitchen cabinets were ordered and picked up from Merillat in Adrian, Michigan, then sorted, labelled and shipped out to dealers around Ontario. By 1984, Eric moved to an office in the back of a shoe store in Essex. In 1985, he hired his first full time employee and opened a 600 square-foot retail showroom at Parkwood and Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor. Maric Kitchen Distributors Inc. continue to wholesale cabinets to dealers and sold to the public as Naylor’s Kitchen & Bath Cabinet Centre on a cash and carry basis only.

6,000 square-foot kitchen design showroom & a 14,000 square-foot warehouse
The company started to offer delivery in 1987 and sub-contracted a few installations in 1988. Full service installation was offered for the first time with staff installers in 1989.

The current and only existing, site on Jefferson Blvd. in Windsor includes a 6,000 square-foot kitchen design showroom showcasing over 20 fully accessorized displays. A 14,000 square-foot warehouse outlet at the same location displays numerous of vanities and marble tops and a huge selection of air tubs and whirlpool tubs, shower stalls, plumbing fixtures, and inventory. All generations involved worked to build and maintain a reputation based on quality and service.
In June of 2018, the company’s proprietorship was transferred into a corporation and it was voted unanimously to keep the company’s name and pledged to continue providing the same exceptional quality of services and products to all its customers – a tradition Naylor’s has been doing for well over a century now.
